Why do Pilates?
Pilates is an effective, low impact practice that builds core strength, stability and mobility. It is most commonly practiced to improve posture, prevent injuries and to extend years of confident movement to peoples lives.
I have never done Pilates. Where do I start?
We recommend booking a Private Session to get started on your Pilates journey with us.
I have done Pilates before, where do I start?
You go straight into the group classes. See the General Timetable here. We do recommend booking a discovery call to assist you in finding the right class. Book your call here.
How do I enroll in Private sessions or Group classes?

How do I pay for a Private session?
We take cash, credit card and e-transfers (Canada). You will receive an invoice before your lesson.
Do you have a late cancellation policy for Private sessions?
Yes. Private sessions canceled under 24 hours are charged in full. Please see our studio policies here.
How do I pay for the classes?
Group classes are paid for on a monthly basis. We do not offer any discounts for missed classes.
Classes are invoiced upfront for the month.
We take cash, credit card and e-transfers (Canada).
Do you offer drop-in classes?
At this point in time we do not offer drop-ins.
What do I wear to a class?
We recommend you wear clothing you can move easily in. Please remove jewelry, zippers and any lotion before a class. Have your hair tied back. Deodorant if you are prone to getting sweaty. Toe Sox (sticky socks) if you prefer not to go barefoot.
Do I need any props or equipment for online classes?
Yes we recommend having a thick mat, small towel/cushion, a 14 inch Pilates Magic Circle and a 7 inch blue ball. You can also use small weights and ankle weights if you would like to add an extra challenge to your Pilates workout.
I feel nervous about starting. How do I begin?
We would love to connect with you. It’s normal to feel nervous when you start something for the first time. Book a Movement Consultation so we can put you at ease and guide you in the right direction.
How do I participate live in the online classes
You need to be familiar with Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link to all classes before they start.
How do I access class recordings?
You will receive a link to a private playlist off YouTube that is updated after every class. All classes are uploaded to the playlist and you can go to them at any time.
How long are the classes?
Classes are 50 minutes.
Are there any shorter classes?
Every month we include two to three 20 minute or less recordings on the playlist.
Can I do Pilates pregnant/just had a baby?

General FAQ
Can I lose weight doing Pilates?
No. Pilates is about improving your body’s ability to move. However it is common for some people to lose inches and gain a new shape doing Pilates. This is very person dependent.
Is Pilates the same as Yoga?
No. Yoga and Pilates run through a completely different set of exercises and exercise intention, focus and application.
Am I too old for Pilates?
No. Pilates is an adaptable practice that lends itself to all age groups.
Do you need to be flexible to do Pilates?
No. Pilates will help you gain more strength and mobility which will assist in everyday movements and flexibility.
Do you need to be fit to do Pilates?
No. Pilates is an adaptable practice that has many options to meet your needs when you get started.
